  • Roughing out the heel. When I build with a set neck, instead of a Spanish heel, I like to get close to the final shape of the heel, so that I can see what the neck joint will look like. This will look alright, I think.

  • It must’ve been more than 10 years since I last did a guitar with rosewood bindings on rosewood back and sides. Lately I’ve always gone for more contrast in the bindings. Often using either ebony or wengé. 
But I must say, I really like this look! The fact that the bindings are off cuts of the sides, which makes for a perfect colour match, definitely helps too!
